One polished solo work, remember, video must not exceed 5 minutes.For advanced percussionists, we recommend a snare drum and a 2- or 4- mallet and keyboard, etudes or solo.For advanced wind & brass students, we recommend submitting an excerpt from your most polished concerto, sonata, or advanced work.For beginner-intermediate wind/brass/percussion students, we recommend consulting with your instructor to select the most polished piece.Winds/Brass/Percussion – Major Audition Requirements If submitting a concerto, the excerpt should include the cadenza. For intermediate and advanced students: we suggest submitting the exposition of a sonata.For beginning and intermediate students we recommend you consult with your instructors to select the most polished piece.If works exceed the 5-minute time allowance, students should submit an excerpt.Please do not submit slow pieces for this audition.One polished solo work in a moderate to fast tempo that does not exceed 5 minutes in length.Marked excerpts taken from orchestral camp repertoire will be sent out to you two weeks prior to the audition.Be prepared to play a live audition for orchestral seating placement the evening of opening day-Sat Jul 17.Piano accompaniment is highly encouraged.For advanced students, we recommend submitting an excerpt from the 1st or 3rd movement of your most polished concerto.For beginner-intermediate students, we recommend consulting with your instructor to select the most polished piece.Please do not submit slow movements for this audition.One polished solo work remember, video must not exceed 5 minutes.Live performance videos with accompaniment are highly encouraged.Their entire torso from the waist up must be visible. Students must be in a standing position.

Two contrasting solo selections, one of which should be a musical theatre selection.

Make sure your rotation lock is turned OFF.

Allowing for the student’s face, torso, and instrument to be visible.

Make sure you record in landscape mode (sideways).

The more current, the more accurate your student’s placement will be!.

Audition video performances should be current and no more than 6 months old.

Please consider choosing an excerpt of your piece or editing your performance video to trim to length.
